The Becoming is a seven-part visual meditation on growth, memory, and the slow unfolding of identity. Each piece marks an inward state, moving from solitude, to multiplicity, and back again. The originals are erased, only the photograph remains.

Michael McManus
Michael McManus is a visual artist working across chalk, drawing, paint, and photography. This site is a personal archive, part portfolio and part studio record. Much of the chalk work is drawn on a wall, photographed when complete, and erased to make room for the next piece. What survives is the photograph, and what it holds. Alongside chalk are paintings, including abstract work and landscape studies, and drawings from earlier years.
